Booking Terms and Conditions

Booking Agreement & Conditions

Booking arrangements represent a contract between you as the traveller and Curious Journeys (‘Curious Journeys’)

All bookings are subject to the following terms and conditions:

  1. BOOKING PROCEDURE - Procedures for bookings are detailed and managed by the specific itinerary.

  2. INCLUSIVES & EXCLUSIVES

    Our journey offering includes all items that are specified on our website at www.curiousjourneys.co.za for the particular journey. Items not explicitly specified are not included in the cost of the journey and are for your cost.

  3. CANCELLATION BY YOU

    ​

    Cancellation procedures are managed by the specific itinerary chosen for travel,

    ​

  4. INSURANCE & HEALTH

    ​

    We strongly recommend that you arrange your own travel and health insurance to cover you during the course of your journey.

  5. AMENDMENTS

    ​

    In the event of any circumstances that are beyond our control, we reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary published on our website and advise you accordingly. If your accommodation has to be changed, we will do our utmost to provide accommodation of a similar rating. If a significant change becomes necessary, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible if there is time before your arrival to do so.

  6. CANCELLATION BY US

    ​

    We reserve the right to cancel your journey, in which case we will offer you a refund in full of all monies paid or an alternative journey.

  7. OUR LIABILITY TO YOU

    ​

    1. We accept responsibility for ensuring that the journey you book with us is supplied as described on our web site and that the services which we are contractually obliged to provide, are to a reasonable standard. We accept responsibility for the acts and/or omissions of our employees, agents and suppliers except where they lead to death, injury or illness (see below). However we will not be liable where any failure in the performance on the part of a third party who is not connected with the provision of your journey as undertaken by us for any reason whatsoever. Our liability will also be limited to a maximum of twice the price paid for your journey, other than instances that are covered by insurance.

    2. We accept responsibility for death, injury or illness caused by the negligent acts and/or omissions of our employees or agents, together with our suppliers and sub-contractors, servants and/or agents of the same whilst acting within the scope of, or in the course of their employment in the provision of your journey. We will, accordingly, pay to our client such damages as might have been awarded in such circumstances in law.

    3. Optional trips booked locally are not our responsibility.

  8. COMPLAINTS

    ​

    Should you experience a problem during the course of your journey, you are required inform a member of our team immediately who, provided that it falls within the scope of your journey, will endeavour to correct things. If your complaint cannot be resolved locally, you must advise us in writing upon your return within 10 days. If you do not follow this simple procedure we will have been deprived of the opportunity to investigate and rectify your complaint whilst on your journey which may affect your right to demand rectification. Please note that we cannot guarantee the proportion of male/female in any group and we are not be responsible for the behaviour individual or group member or other guest.

  9. PASSPORTS, VISAS AND HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

    ​

    You are responsible for ensuring that you have a valid passport and any necessary visas and any necessary or required inoculations or other health requirements. We do not accept any responsibility if you cannot travel because you do not have the correct documents to travel.

  10. THE CONTRACT

    ​

    This contract is made on the terms of these Booking Conditions, which are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa and the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African Courts.
